Dr. Shauna Diggs
Founder / President
Shauna Ryder Diggs, MD, of Cosmedic Dermatology, practices general, cosmetic, and laser dermatology. She specializes in using the latest advancements in dermatology for skin rejuvenation and has created CosmedicDerm Professional Skin Care, which offers products for sensitive, acne-prone, and photodamaged skin. Dr. Diggs is a graduate of the University of Michigan Inteflex Program and completed an internal medicine internship at the U-M Medical Center in Ann Arbor. Her specialty training took place in the University of Michigan’s dermatology residency program. She developed expertise in autoimmune, infectious, benign, and malignant dermatoses. Dr. Diggs is a board-certified dermatologist of the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, and a member of the Michigan Dermatological Society. She has been a lecturer at the University of Michigan Medical School and Dental School. Prior to opening Cosmedic Dermatology in Grosse Pointe, Dr. Diggs practiced in the Oakland Aesthetic Dermatology group in Farmington Hills. She then served as the medical director of the Laser Treatment Center at the Detroit Medical Center’s Sinai-Grace Hospital, specializing in cosmetic and laser dermatology. She uses lasers for hair removal, facial and leg vein therapy, tattoo removal, birthmark removal, and skin rejuvenation. For skin rejuvenation, she also utilizes neuromodulators, filler injections, and topical anti-photoaging treatments. In addition to procedural dermatology, Dr. Diggs lectures on the use of advanced topical therapies for dermatoses and teaches classes on lasers to physicians nationally. She is on the staff of St. John Medical Center, Sinai-Grace Hospital, and Beaumont-Grosse Pointe Hospital. Dr. Diggs is personally and professionally involved in her community. She is a regent of the University of Michigan and chair Emeritus of the Association of Governing Boards, chair of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation, and chair of the Association of Governing Boards of Colleges and Universities. Dr. Diggs has also served on the boards of the Michigan Opera Theatre, Detroit Conservancy Board, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Zoological Society, and Forgotten Harvest. She was married to the late Douglass J. Diggs and has two daughters.
Lindsey Oliver is a nationally certified and state licensed Physician Assistant practicing general and cosmetic dermatology. Lindsey earned her bachelor of science degree from Michigan State University and master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Wayne State University. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Lindsey is a detail-oriented practitioner with a focus on providing tailored treatments and solutions that align with a patient’s specific needs and goals. Lindsey finds it incredibly rewarding to practice in both the fields of dermatology and cosmetics due to the visible improvements and newfound confidence she is able to provide to patients. Lindsey is married to her high school sweetheart and a new mother to a baby boy. In her free time, Mrs. Oliver enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and golden retriever.
Nursing and Aesthetics
Prior to joining the CosmedicDerm team in 2002, Cathy spent an impressive 12 years working in the medical field. After obtaining a medical assistant degree from Metro Technical Institute in Royal Oak, she successfully completed a post-education internship at Prime Care Medical Facility in Detroit. Cathy has served as a trusted asset to the CosmedicDerm team. Her knowledge of patient care, products and procedures have contributed to the overall success of the practice. Cathy’s noted specialties at CosmedicDerm are acne, laser hair removal, chemical peels, Clear + Brilliant applications, facials and microdermabrasion and Vibradermabrasion treatments.
With a lifelong interest in skincare and a background in the beauty industry, Jessica joined Cosmedic Dermatology in 2018 as Patient Coordinator and Aesthetician. Jessica is passionate about helping patients look and feel their best. She is licensed cosmetologist with advanced training in the latest techniques of laser skin resurfacing, laser hair reduction, radio frequency skin tightening, glycolic acid peels, dermaplaning and microneedling.
Jamila joined Cosmedic Dermatology as a medical assistant in 2021. She is a recent graduate of Wayne State with a bachelors in Psychology, she is on a pre-PA track studying to take the GRE for PA school. During her time working for Cosmedic Dermatology she has gained a great deal of dermatology experience and is hoping to become a Physician Assistant who specializes in dermatology. In her free time she enjoys listening to music, trying new foods and exploring new cafes.
Dawn joined the Cosmedic Dermatology team in 2017 as a Patient Coordinator. She is also the Administrative Assistant at Designers and Partners since 2009. She was previously employed as the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Administrative Assistant for 10 years at Ascension Providence Hospital and as an Office Manager at a private practice office for 18 years. She received her Associates Degree from Macomb Community College. Dawn has been married for 44 years and is the proud mother of two daughters, and a son. She also rescued a two-year-old pup who loves to go for walks. She enjoys music, gardening, book club, sports, food/wine pairings, baking and movies.
Madalyn joined the Cosmedic Dermatology team as a medical assistant in 2022 after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Kalamazoo College. In addition to her pre-medical studies, Madalyn was a member of the Women’s Tennis Team at Kalamazoo. During her time with our practice, she has gained extensive experience with cosmetic and medical dermatology, further inspiring her to pursue a career in medicine. In her free time, Madalyn loves spending time with her family and traveling up north.
