Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is one of the most effective treatments for many skin concerns. Laser machines come in a variety of models that can eliminate hair, rejuvenate the skin and even remove tattoos. CosmedicDerm uses the Clear + Brilliant resurfacing laser, Fraxel Rejuvenation laser, GentleYag Hair Removal Laser System, GentleLase and the Candela TATULAZR.

What are my Laser Therapy Options?

Clear + Brilliant Resurfacing Laser

Clear + Brilliant Gentle Laser Resurfacing is a fractional laser device that addresses the early signs of aging or can be used as a skincare maintenance tool. This laser treatment is performed in a series of six sessions with minimal downtime.

Candela TATULAZR

The TATULAZR is laser specifically used to fade and remove unwanted tattoos. The treatment plan varies from patient to patient depending on the size, color, and age of the tattoo. Also, the color of the patient’s skin and depth of the tattoo’s pigment extends beneath the skin’s surface will be a factor in the treatment plan as well. The Candela Laser is safer than traditional methods because of its unique ability to selectively treat the pigment of a tattoo while leaving the surrounding skin alone.

Fraxel Rejuvenation Laser

Fraxel Rejuvenation laser addresses the whole spectrum of aging skin concerns with a method that is customized to each patient’s needs, requiring minimal recovery time. The “smart scanning” handpiece ensures consistency and safety, while fractional lasers penetrate the top skin layers. Fraxel light energy stimulates collagen and resurfaces the top layer of skin.

GentleYag Hair Removal Laser System

The GentleLase System is a long-pulse, high-energy alexandrite laser, that emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicle, where it is then absorbed. The laser energy is transformed into heat, which destroys the hair follicle, leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. The GentleLase System safely removes unwanted body hair without damaging the delicate pores and structures of the skin. The number of treatments required depends on skin color, hair color and coarseness of hair.

LegendPro Microneedling

LegendPro uses radiofrequency (RF) microneedling to treat signs of aging and rejuvenate the skin. Microneedling uses a small piece with many tiny needles that puncture the skin to trigger your body’s natural healing response and the production of collagen. Additionally, RF energy heats your skin below the surface to further stimulate the production of collagen while tightening and firming the skin. RF microneedling can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity, scarring, and uneven skin tone or skin texture.

Nu Era Tight

Nu Era Tight is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses multiple RF frequencies to target different layers of the skin depending on the condition of your skin. By heating the skin inside out and out, Nu Era Tight lifts and tightens the skin to treat skin laxity, wrinkles, and cellulite. A minimum of six treatments is needed for optimal results but after the series of procedures is complete, you can enjoy a refreshed, youthful look for years to come.

SmoothGlo

The TATULAZR is laser specifically used to fade and remove unwanted tattoos. The treatment plan varies from patient to patient depending on the size, color, and age of the tattoo. Also, the color of the patient’s skin and depth of the tattoo’s pigment extends beneath the skin’s surface will be a factor in the treatment plan as well. The Candela Laser is safer than traditional methods because of its unique ability to selectively treat the pigment of a tattoo while leaving the surrounding skin alone.

Stellar M22 IPL

Stellar M22 IPL uses intense pulsed light with an innovative technology that reduces discomfort during treatment and allows for a quick recovery. Stellar M22 also uses SapphireCool Light Guides – a camera that projects the treatment onto a large screen so that your providers have greater visibility and can more accurately target the treatment area. Improvements can be seen after one treatment, but 4-6 treatments scheduled 4-8 weeks apart is recommended for the best results.

Downtime & Side Effects

Downtime will vary greatly depending on the type of laser treatment that addresses your skin concerns. None of above lasers have drastic downtime due to their gentle, yet effective light energy that targets the intended area without affecting the surrounding area. With skin resurfacing, depending on the depth of the treatment your skin will be red and slightly inflamed right after treatment but that should subside within 3-5 days and will continue to heal for a few weeks. With hair reduction lasers, downtime is quite minimal because the laser is attracted to the pigment of the hair and leaves the surrounding area alone.
